3.1 Basic Rules & Core Objective

The primary objective in Mahjong Seasons is to clear the entire board by finding, selecting, and matching identical pairs of open Mahjong tiles.

1. Identify Open (Unblocked) Tiles: A tile is considered "open" or "free" only if it meets two strict conditions:
   • No Overhead Tile: No other tile is lying directly on top of it, even partially.
   • Unblocked Side: Either its left side OR its right side is completely open (it is not squeezed between other tiles on both horizontal edges).
2. Select and Pair: Click or tap an open tile to highlight it, then click or tap another open tile with an identical face icon to remove both tiles from the board.
3. Expose Lower Layers: As you clear top and outer tiles, previously trapped tiles beneath and beside them become unblocked and eligible for matching.
4. Clear the Board: Continue pairing open tiles until the entire structure is completely cleared to win the level.
